Abstract

Women's groups have enabled the expansion of women's struggle for rights and against violence in different spaces. Among the struggle movements, we highlight MeToo in universities, an international movement for the end of harassment against women in universities, reducing inequalities in different areas. In this article, we present the NIASE women's group from its beginning until the present moment, relating our actions to other women's groups in Brazil and in the world. This historical rescue in NIASE and other women's groups allowed us to reflect on the role of these spaces in reducing inequalities and violence, because women's groups are safe and enable the development of solidarity among women.
